Pancreatitis during the Christmas Season

With Christmas approaching fast, it is tempting to treat ourselves with tasty, festive foods. However, it is really important that we are not sharing these foods with our furry friends, as it can make them very sick, and often needing veterinary help. Foods like ham, bacon, and sausages can be extremely fatty, resulting in pancreatitis. We are already seeing a few cases of pancreatitis coming through the clinic this Christmas season so please be careful to ensure your pet is not eating these foods. If you are wanting to treat your pets with something special, you can purchase pet friendly treats from your local pet store, but make sure you are giving them in moderation.
